The Berkeley College men's basketball won for the second time in as many days, turning back the Nittany Lions of Penn State Brandywine on Friday evening by a score of 92-69. With the win, the Knights are now 12-0 on the 2016-2017 campaign, and have won 36 consecutive contests as a program. Penn State Brandywine dipped to 2-8 with the defeat.

Veteran Johnnie Green put forth a nearly perfect performance in the win for the Knights, as he connected on nine of his 10 attempts from the floor while also converting on three of his four shots from the charity stripe to finish with a game-high 21 points to along with six rebounds. Massiah Merritt drained four three-point baskets while also recording four assists and two steals, and Stephon Jennings added 12 points and a game-high nine rebounds. 

Also contributing for the Knights were Dondre Simmons and Jeffrey Mejia, as they finished with nine points and eight points, respectively. Following the win, Head Coach Chris Christiansen spoke very highly of his team.

"I am extremely proud of the effort that our guys put together the last two days," Christiansen said. "It was encouraging to see that this team was focused and determined coming out of a 14-day break, and we used consecutive balanced efforts to keep our season and program winning streak alive. Now we'll enjoy a week off before getting ready to face the University of Maine at Augusta and NHTI next weekend."

Berkeley College connected on 48.6 percent of its shots from the floor (34-70) compared to the Nittany Lions' 34.2 percent conversion rate (25-73). The Knights dominated the glass, out-rebounding Penn State Brandywine 51-36, and Berkeley also dished 6 assists to the opposition's 14. The Knights narrowly won the turnover battle, committing 24 while forcing 26 Nittany Lion mistakes.

Despite the loss for Penn State Brandywine, it was James Fisher finishing his evening with 15 points to go along with six rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Shaun Norwood scored a team-high 17 points while snatching three rebounds, and it was Emanuel Folkes netting 12 points and collecting four boards.

The Knights will now enjoy a seven day break from games before returning to action on the weekend of January 7 and January 8, as Berkeley College will compete in the NHTI Holiday Inn New Year's Classic. On January 7, Berkeley College will take on the University of Maine at Augusta at 6:00pm. The following day, the Knights will take on NHTI at 4:00pm.
