Ashley Duplan tabbed as USCAA Player of the Week, while also earning HVIAC Honor Roll recognition; Johnnie Green selected as HVIAC Player of the Week for second time this year

The United States Collegiate Athletic Association and the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced their weekly award winners on Tuesday, and Berkeley College's basketball programs were well represented. On the women's side, senior Ashley Duplan was selected as the USCAA Player of the Week, while also earning a spot on the HVIAC Honor Roll list. On the men's side, Johnnie Green took home his second HVIAC Player of the Week award on the 2017-2018 campaign.

Ashley Duplan was tabbed the USCAA Player of the Week and to the HVIAC Honor Roll list for her outstanding performances last week for Berkeley College. The senior averaged 19 points over a three-game stretch for the Knights. She knocked down the game-winning three-pointer with four seconds left in a 71-69 win over Central Penn on Saturday and scored a game-high 27 points in a losing effort to Davis on Sunday, draining nine treys.

"Ashley has truly had an amazing February for us – and she has established herself as one of our toughest players," Head Coach Alex Kuchar said. "She is a gamer. Her contributions to this program over the past two years have been incredible, and we're looking forward to seeing her finish out her career in a big way as we aim to win a Regional title this weekend and punch our ticket to the USCAA tournament."

Berkeley College will close out its regular season on Wednesday evening, as the Knights will take on Vaughn College. The game will take place at The Hill Center on the campus of St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn, and start-time is scheduled for 9:00pm.

Standout Johnnie Green picked up his second Player of the Week award of the 2017-2018 season, as he helped the Knights win the regular season title and extend Berkeley College's impressive winning streak to 19 games. The senior averaged 20.5 points on 67 percent shooting in just 26.5 minutes of action over two league victories. After posting 19 points with eight rebounds in the victory over New Rochelle back on February 7, he netted a game-high 22 points in 25 minutes in the title-clinching win over Davis College on Sunday, February 11.

"Johnnie has been an incredible presence for our team this season," Head Coach Jonathan Pena said. "He is an incredible offensive force, and he is one of our team leaders. His leadership has been extraordinary for all of the new student-athletes that have joined our program," Pena said. "He gives 100 percent each and every time he takes the court, and he does a phenomenal job of leading by example for his teammates. It's very gratifying to see him finish out his career in terrific fashion."

Berkeley College will close out its regular season on Wednesday evening, as the Knights will take on Vaughn College in a Valentine's Day contest. The game will take place at The Hill Center on the campus of St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn, and start-time is scheduled for 7:00pm.
