Men's basketball team will enter 2017-2018 USCAA Division II National Men's Basketball Tournament as No. 1 overall seed

The USCAA announced its selections for the 2017-2018 USCAA Division II National Men's Basketball Tournament on Tuesday evening, and Berkeley College's men's basketball team learned that it will be the No. 1 overall seed when it begins its quest for a fourth consecutive National title. The tournament begins on Wednesday, February 28, and will be hosted by Penn State Fayette. All games will take place in Uniontown, Pennsylvania.

The Knights (25-1 Overall) – who won the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title this past weekend by defeating Vaughn College and the College of New Rochelle – have won 22 consecutive contests – a streak that serves as the second-longest in the history of the program. Berkeley College will play on Thursday, March 1 at 5:30pm, when the Knights take on the winner of Wednesday's play-in match-up between No. 8 seeded Penn State Wilkes-Barre and No. 9 seeded Vermont Tech. The game will take place in Penn State Fayette's Maltho Gymnasium. Knights Head Coach Jonathan Pena spoke about his team's mindset as it prepares to compete on the grandest of stages once again.

"Our team has put together a very successful season, and to see these student-athletes get rewarded with a chance to compete for another USCAA National title, it's extremely gratifying," Pena said. "I'm excited for the guys who experienced competing on the National stage last year, as well as the student-athletes who joined our team this past summer. I am very proud of what this team has been able to accomplish thus far, and I cannot say enough positive things about the work ethic and determination of these student-athletes. I feel that we are ready for the challenge of taking on some of the best teams that the USCAA has to offer yet again."
