Head Coach Jonathan Pena of men's basketball team to travel to Kansas City, Missouri for Small College Basketball National awards show on May 19

A little over two months since leading the Berkeley College men's basketball team to its fourth consecutive HVIAC and USCAA crowns, Head Coach Jonathan Pena will be heading to Small College Basketball's National awards Show in Kansas City, Missouri, where a plethora of Head Coaches from across the Nation will be honored. Pena – who served as an assistant coach for eight seasons prior to the 2017-2018 campaign – lead the Knights to a 28-1 mark and Regional and National crowns in his first season leading the Knights.

Small College Basketball incorporates NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and the NAIA, NCCAA and USCAA under one umbrella. The purpose of Small College Basketball is to bring national and worldwide attention to the great game of basketball that is played at the aforementioned levels

The award show will take place in the Starlight Ballroom (top floor) of Crowne Plaza in downtown Kansas City, MO, and will begin at 6:30 p.m.  During the National Awards Show, Small College Basketball will honor the Head Coaches from the various National Champions under the umbrella of Small College Basketball.  The Bevo Francis Award and the Larry Smith Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented.  It's going to be a special night for our great game of basketball.

Berkeley College will begin its 2018-2019 season on November 9, as the Knights will take on the University of Rio Grande at a neutral site. The following day - on November 10 - Berkeley will take on West Virginia Tech.
