Men's basketball team will enter 2018-2019 USCAA Division II National Men's Basketball Tournament as No. 1 overall seed

The USCAA announced its selections for the 2018-2019 USCAA Division II National Men's Basketball Tournament on Saturday afternoon, and Berkeley College's men's basketball team learned that it will be the No. 1 overall seed when it begins its quest for a fifth consecutive National title. The tournament begins on Sunday, March 3rd, and will be hosted by Penn State Fayette. All games will take place in Uniontown, Pennsylvania.

The Knights (21-4 Overall) – who won the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title this past weekend by defeating Albany College of Pharmacy and the College of New Rochelle – have won 14 consecutive contests. Berkeley College will play on Monday, March 4 at 8:00pm, when the Knights take on the winner of Wednesday's play-in match-up between No. 8 seeded Central Penn and the No. 9 seed (still to-be-determined). The game will take place in Penn State Fayette's Main Gymnasium. Knights Head Coach Jonathan Pena spoke about his team's mindset as it prepares to compete on the grandest of stages once again.

"Over the course of this season, our team not only pushed itself against some incredible competition, but it also overcame adversity in many games," Pena said. "I'm very excited for the guys who competed on the National stage last year, as well as the student-athletes who joined our program this summer and worked so hard to get acclimated to the culture of our team. I am very proud of what this team has been able to accomplish thus far, and I cannot say enough positive things about the work ethic and determination of these student-athletes. I feel that we are ready for the challenge of taking on some of the best teams that the USCAA has to offer yet again."
