New Jersey men's soccer teams falls to Washington Adventist University 2-0 in season finale; Edgar Jurado and Julian Caprio honored in pregame Senior Day ceremony

The Berkeley College New Jersey men's soccer team dropped its sixth consecutive match to end the 2017 regular season as the Knights fell to Washington Adventist University by a score of 2-0 Friday afternoon in a match played at Ramapo College in Mahwah, NJ. With the defeat, Berkeley dipped to 10-8 on the year, while the Shock won its fourth consecutive match to catapult to 8-5 on the season.

Prior to the match, the Berkeley College Department of Athletics took a few moments to honor two seniors – Julian Caprio and Edgar Jurado - in a special ceremony. Director of Athletics Andy DeStephano and Head Coach Bruno Ferreira presented both student-athletes with commemorative plaques to show their appreciation for the two seniors' years of service to the team.

Today's match was a rematch of the classic contest played between the two played earlier in the season back on September 2, when the Knights defeated the Shock by a score of 3-2 in overtime. It was a different story today, however, as Berkeley College was unable to get anything going offensively, and Washington Adventist University's Daniel Moreira's two goals proved to be more than enough for his team.

Despite the loss for Berkeley College, Wily Peralta recorded four saves on the afternoon. Shock goaltender Reynero Pacheco recorded a shutout, stopping four shots in the process.

The Knights will now await word of a possible big to the 2017 USCAA Men's Soccer National Championship Tournament. The selection show will take place on Tuesday, October 31 at 1:00pm.
