The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners for the period of Monday, September 10 through Sunday, September 16, and Berkeley College was represented by three student-athletes who were tabbed to the Honor Roll lists. Those student-athletes included men's soccer's Dario Cruz Sepulveda, men's cross country's Julio Sanchez, and women's cross country's Julissa Osorio.
Sepulveda – the men's soccer team's freshman goalkeeper – put forth a pair of valiant efforts last week. Back on September 12, he allowed just one goal in Berkeley College's 1-0 defeat at the hands of SUNY-Maritime. This past Saturday, he made four saves in the Knights' loss to Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse.
The New York men's soccer team returns to the pitch on Monday, September 24, as they'll take to the road to battle Marywood in a 4:00pm contest.
Sanchez was the top finisher for the Knights at the Queensborough College Invitational, posting an 8K time of 37:43, taking 81st place. On the women's side, Osorio finished 58th out of 167 scoring runners in the female 5K event with a time of 26:09.
Berkeley College's men's and women's cross country teams return to the course on Saturday when they compete in the Bard Raptors Invitational. The women's race starts at 11:00am, with the men's event beginning at 11:45am.
