The Berkeley College New York men's soccer team found itself in overtime for the second consecutive match, today playing to a 1-1 tie with the Defenders of Clarks Summit University in a match that took place at Defender Field in South Abington Township, PA. With the tie, the Knights are now 5-4-1 on the 2018 season, while Clarks Summit University is now 3-5-1 on the year.

After the teams played a scoreless first half, the Defenders struck first when Jan Rodriguez notched his third goal of the 2018 campaign (Caleb Holloman was credited with the assist on the score) at 53:08.

The Knights' Amadou Sy – who has been the team's offensive sparkplug all year – notched his fifth goal of the year at 71:34 to tie the game at one apiece.

Neither team was able to score for the remainder of regulation, and both schools failed to find the game-winner in the two overtime periods, as the Knights and Defenders would settle for a 1-1 tie. Berkeley College out-shot Clarks Summit University 24-12 on the day, including 3-1 in the first overtime and 2-1 in the second extra session.

Berkeley goaltender Jimmy Perez allowed just one goal and stopped one shot in 110 minutes played. His counterpart, Evan Rarick was masterful, as he made eight saves while allowing one goal.

The Knights will return to action on Wednesday evening, as Berkeley will host Pratt Institute at Aviator Field in Brooklyn, NY. Start-time is scheduled for 6:30pm.
