Doumbia, Da Costa, Dos Santos, and Hidalgo each score a goal in New Jersey men's soccer team's 4-0 rout of Dolphins

The Berkeley College New Jersey men's soccer team picked up its third victory in its last four games, today defeating the Dolphins of the College of Mount Saint Vincent by a score of 4-0 at Mattano Park in Elizabeth, New Jersey. With the victory, the Knights improved to a mark of 4-8 on the year, while the College of Mount Saint Vincent dipped to 2-12 on the 2018 campaign.

The Knights dictated the pace in the opening session. Berkeley's first goal came courtesy of veteran Ichiaka Doumbia, as he received a beautiful lead pass from Arzheen Othman before burying the ball into the net to give his team a 1-0 advantage at the 8:39 mark. Later, at 21:56, Matthew Da Costa headed in a ball off a pass from Christopher Azevedo to increase Berkeley's edge to 2-0. That score would remain unchanged as the first half came to a close.

In the second half, Berkeley's Felipe Dos Santos would increase the Knights' lead to three goals when he would find the back of the net at 68:23 (assisted by Da Costa). Marcos Hidalgo would make it 4-0 in favor of Berkeley (assisted by Carlos Goncalves and Robins Etienne) at 79:41. That would be the final goal scored by either side, as the Knights went on to record the four-goal victory.

Robert Parker received the win in goal, logging 75:04, not allowing a goal, and making five saves.

The Knights out-shot the Dolphins by a count of 21-15 on the evening. Both teams were whistled for 16 fouls apiece.

Berkeley will look to make it four victories in their last five games when they return to action Saturday. The Knights will take to the road to battle Green Mountain College at Eagles Field in Poultney, Vermont. Start-time for the match is scheduled for 2:00pm.
