The Berkeley College New Jersey men's soccer team won for the fourth time in its last five tries, defeating the Eagles of Green Mountain College by a score of 4-0 Saturday afternoon in Poultney, Vermont. With the win, the Knights are now 5-8 on the 2018 season, while the Eagles slipped to 3-8-1- on the year.
Ichiaka Doumbia recorded the lone goal of the opening session, as he scored at 14:41 to give Berkeley a 1-0 advantage. Gennaro Vittorioso picked up an assist on the play. The Knights would add three more goals in the second half, courtesy of Christopher Azevedo (46:21, from Wender Lima), Carlos Goncalves(49:16, from Matthew Da Costa), and Alejandro Thomas (82:46, Azevedo assist).
Berkeley dominated the match offensively, out-shooting Green Mountain College by a count of 26-12.
The Knights will look to continue their recent winning ways tomorrow afternoon, as they will play a road game at Vermont Tech. Start-time is scheduled for 12:00pm.
