Pair of second half goals by Camden County College sinks New Jersey men's soccer team as Cougars slip by Knights 2-1 on Tuesday afternoon

The Berkeley College New Jersey men's soccer team suffered just its second loss in the month of October, falling today to the Cougars of Camden County College by a score of 2-1. With the defeat, the Knights slipped to 6-9 on the 2018 campaign, while the Cougars improved to an impressive mark of 13-2-1.

The Knights took a 1-0 advantage in this game in the 29th minute when Ichiaka Doumbia scored a penalty kick goal. Berkeley held that slim advantage until the 70th minute when Lucas Pecegueiro would find the back of the net (off a lead pass from Ismail Kaya) to tie the game at one apiece.

Camden County College would take the lead for good in the 87th minute when Kaya would score the difference-making goal (assisted by Pecegueiro). That put the Cougars up 2-1, a lead they would not relinquish.

Berkeley will look to bounce back on Thursday afternoon, as the Knights will take to the road to battle Albany College of Pharmacy. Start-time for the contest is scheduled for 4:30pm.
