Knights dominate Penn State New Kensington, Penn State Beaver to start 2023 season

The Berkeley College men's soccer team started it 2023 campaign on a winning note, defeating Penn State New Kensington and Penn State Beaver by scores of 3-0 and 6-0, respectively. It served as the third time in the past four seasons that the Knights have started 2-0.

In Berkeley's victory over Penn State New Kensington, Suad Lukovic earned the first tally of the match, burying a ball home off of a beautiful lead pass from Joseph Buel. Later, Marco DaSilva increased the Knights' edge to 2-0, taking advantage of a Lucas Zuleta feed before blasting the ball home. Berkeley wrapped up the scoring with a goal from Eddie Becirovic, as he scored via a nifty pass from Ian Pallardel.

The Knights' suffocating defense allowed just seven shots for the match, including two on goal, both of which were saved by Berkeley netminder Victor Batista, who earned the shutout.

Berkeley's aggressive offense registered 24 shots, including seven on goal.

In the Knights' victory over Penn State Beaver a day later, Berkeley completely dominated the contest, registering 41 shots and six goals while shutting out the opposition on one registered shot.

The other five Knight players to find the back of the net included Calvo (from Massimo Rondon), Hector Castro (from Allan Luna), Pallardel (unassisted), and Alejandro Pena (from Yammir Yaffer).
