Two Knights earn USCAA distinctions following Berkeley's successful opening week

The United States Collegiate Athletic Association announced its weekly award winners for the period of Monday, August 28 through Sunday, September 3, and the Knights were well represented. Junior defender Suad Lukovic was tabbed as the Division II Player of the Week, while freshman netminder Victor Batista was selected as the Division II Goalie of the Week.

Berkeley dominated this past weekend, defeating Penn State New Kensington this past Friday by a score of 3-0, before trouncing Penn State Beaver 6-0 less than 24 hours later.

For those two games, Lukovic scored a total of three goals, while Batista logged over 146 shutout minutes in net, making two saves.

Berkeley returns to action on Wednesday, as the Knights will welcome Brookdale Community College to Frank D. Zaccaria Memorial Park for their home opener. Start-time is scheduled for 3:30pm.
