Playing for the first time in a week, the Berkeley College women's basketball team bounced back from a loss to Mount Saint Vincent last Saturday by defeating the University of Maine at Augusta by a score of 60-59 on the first day of the NHTI-Holiday Inn New Year's Women's Basketball Tournament. With the victory, the Knights improved to 10-2 on the 2014-2015 campaign, and will play NHTI in the championship game tomorrow at 12:00pm. NHTI advanced to the title tilt by turning back Massasoit Community College, 77-53.

First-year standout Champagne Hazel led the way for Berkeley College in its victory with 22 points. Janay Thomas netted 12 points, and Jasmine Sanders dropped in 10 off the bench.
