Women's basketball team drops weekend games to Mustangs and Seawolves to begin 2016-2017 season

The Berkeley College women's basketball team began its 2016-2017 season this weekend with a pair of defeats, falling to Central Maine Community College by a score of 119-30 on Saturday afternoon in Auburn, Maine before dropping a contest to Southern Maine Community College by a score of 65-25 in South Portland, Maine on Sunday. The Knights are 0-2, while both the Mustangs and the SeaWolves improved their records to 3-0.

In Berkeley College's loss at the hands of Central Maine Community College, Ashley Duplan and Chantel Owens led their team in scoring with eight points apiece. In the Knights' defeat Sunday against the SeaWolves, Duplan connected on a pair of three-point baskets, finishing with a team-high 10 points to go along with six rebounds and a pair of steals.

The Knights will return to action on Saturday, November 12, as Berkeley College will take on the University of Maine at Fort Kent in a neutral site contest. The game will take place at SUNY Delhi, and start-time is scheduled for noon.
