First-year standout Gianna Acosta dazzles despite the Knights' defeats to Maine Fort Kent and SUNY Delhi this past weekend

The Berkeley College women's basketball team dropped a pair of contests this past weekend, falling to the University of Maine at Fort Kent by a score of 101-38 on Saturday before losing to the Broncos of SUNY Delhi 79-56 on Sunday. With the defeats, the Knights are now 0-4 on the 2016-2017 campaign.

Despite the Knights' loss to the Bengals on Saturday, first-year standout Gianna Acosta put forth a very strong effort, as she knocked down seven of her 17 attempts from the floor (including 4-11 from three-point territory) and six of her seven shots from the charity stripe to finish with a game-high 24 points. She also grabbed seven rebounds as well.

In Berkeley College's loss to SUNY Delhi on Sunday, Acosta was at it again, registering a game-high 26 points on nine-of-17 shooting. She also connected on all seven of her free throw attempts while posting a team-high six assists and grabbing four rebounds. Ashley Duplan also contributed in a nice way on Sunday, as she scored 21 points while drilling six shots from beyond-the-arc and snatching six rebounds.

The Knights will look to record their first victory of the season on Sunday, November 20, as Berkeley College will travel to King's Point, NY to battle the Unites States Merchant Marine Academy. Start-time for that contest is scheduled for 4:00pm.
