Dondre Simmons named USCAA Co-Player of the Week as well as HVIAC Player of the Week; Ashley Duplan lands on HVIAC Honor Roll list

Berkeley College men's basketball standout Dondre Simmons earned National and Regional recognition this week, as it was announced Tuesday afternoon that the senior was tabbed as the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week as well as the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

Simmons earned the aforementioned distinctions thanks to his phenomenal performance in Berkeley College's 94-85 victory over Central Penn back on November 19. The game served as a rematch of the 2015-2016 USCAA National title contest – a game in which Berkeley won to claim its second consecutive National crown.

In that 94-85 victory over Central Penn, Simmons put up 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting to go along with three assists and a pair of rebounds.

The men's basketball team will return to action on Saturday at 3:00pm, as Berkeley College will take on Bryant & Stratton (Virginia) in Virginia Beach.

Additionally, it was Ashley Duplan of the women's basketball program earning a spot on the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Honor Roll list thanks to her performance in the Knights' loss to USMMA King's Point back on November 20. In that contest, the first-year standout scored a game-high 18 points, as she connected on five three-point baskets while snatching five rebounds and registering three blocks.

The women's basketball team will return to action on Saturday, December 3, as the Knights will open Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play against Davis College. The contest will take place at the College of New Rochelle, with tip-off scheduled for 1:00pm.
