Knights come up empty in Maine, falling to Maine Augusta and CMCC
The Berkeley College women's basketball team dropped a pair of games in Maine this past weekend, falling to the University of Maine at Augusta 64-26 on Friday evening, before losing to Central Maine Community College 67-28 on Saturday. Both contests took place at Central Maine Community College. With the aforementioned output, the Knights are now 0-8 on the 2022-2023 campaign.
 
In the Knights' loss to the Moose, Berkeley was paced by Zanya Henderson, as she finished with eight points to go along with team-highs of 11 rebounds and three steals. Also, Beulah Dixon Blake contributed eight points, seven rebounds, and a pair of assists.
 
For the University of Maine at Augusta, Mariah Dunbar connected on eight of her nine attempts from the floor, while also nailing both of her free throw attempts, to finish with a game-high 19 points. Kaeti Butterfield posted a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards, and Desirae Dumais also notched a double-double, scoring 11 points while snatching 10 rebounds.
 
Amal Mahmoud led the Knights in their loss against the Mustangs, as she scored nine points while snatching a game-high 18 rebounds. She also collected a team-high five steals, as well. Henderson finished with eight points and five boards, and Kanijah Jacobs contributed five points and four caroms.
 
Central Maine Community College was paced by Emily Strachan (7-7 FT), and she finalized her afternoon with game-highs of 17 points, seven steals, and four assists, and Kali Thompson contributed 14 points, five boards, and four steals.
 
The Knights will return to the court tomorrow evening, as Berkeley will play its first Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game of the season, hosting Vaughn College. The game will take place at CCNY's Nat Holman Gymnasium, with a start-time of 6:00pm.
