Women's basketball drops final three contests of calendar year 2022
The Berkeley College women's basketball team closed out calendar year 2022 by dropping three contests, falling to Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse 83-27 back on December 17, before losing to Villa Maria 54-50 and Bryant & Stratton-Buffalo 88-83 on December 19th and 20th, respectively. 
 
Despite the Knight's loss to the Bobcats, Beulah Dixon Blake led the way for her squad, scoring a team-high nine points to go along with three rebounds. Kanijah Jacobs and Zanya Henderson netted seven points apiece, as well.
 
Pacing Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse was Jehiah Cook, as she registered a triple-double with game highs of 26 points, 10 assists, and 10 steals. Eunice Sillong netted 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, and Shania Lewis and Suliat Afolabi scored 14 points apiece.
 
In the Knights' tough loss to HVIAC foe Villa Maria, Amal Mahmoud tied for the game high of 16 points (6-8 FT), while leading all players with 17 rebounds. Jacobs added 16 points and four rebounds, and Henderson finalized her evening with 13 points, eight boards, and four steals. 
 
For the Vikings, Maria Falanga scored a team-high 12 points, tallied a game-high six steals, and added five rebounds. Talia Burgess finished with 10 points and six boards, and Talia Bush recorded eight points and 13 boards off the bench. 
 
Berkeley was paced by Jacobs in its game against Bryant & Stratton-Buffalo, as she scored a team-high 21 points to go along with four rebounds and three assists. Mahmoud posted yet another double-double, finalizing her afternoon with 17 points, 12 points, and five steals, and Blake contributed 16 points and six caroms.
 
For the Bobcats, Oumy Gueye had a terrific all-around game, registering a game-high 22 points, grabbing eight boards, piling five assists, and contributing four steals.Kat Kanhoye nailed seven of her 10 shots to finish with 17 points. She also added a game-high nine assists, as well as grabbing eight rebounds and swatting three shots. Chy Isom posted an incredible double-double with 17 points and a game-high 21 rebounds, and Tamia Tart and Charm Stone scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.
 
Berkeley College will return to the court this weekend, as they'll travel to Concord, New Hampshire to play in the NHTI New Year' Classic. This Saturday, Berkeley will take on the University of Maine at Augusta in a neutral contest at 2:00pm. The following day, the Knights will play host NHTI at 12:00pm.
