Tahshon Moore, Mousa Diaby, and Beulah Dixon Blake earn HVIAC accolades
The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners for the period of Monday, January 11th through Sunday, January 17th, and Berkeley College men's and women's basketball teams were well represented. On the men's side, standout Tahshon Moore was tabbed the conference's Player of the Week, while Mousa Diaby earned the Rookie of the Week billing. For Berkeley's women's squad, Beulah Dixon Blake earned the Player of the Week accolade.
 
This past Saturday, Berkeley's men's team dominated the Huskies of Word of Life 103-57, and in that game, Moore scored 14 points in 23 minutes off of the bench, also snatching nine boards, registering a game-high six assists, and tallying five steals. The following day, he helped the Knights register a thrilling 86-83 victory over the Bobcats of Bryant & Stratton Albany. Moore played well in that game too, connecting on three shots from downtown, and 10 of his 15 attempts from the line, to finish with a team-high 23 points
 
In earning the men's Rookie of the Week honor, Diaby registered 16 points while grabbing nine rebounds in the Knights' victory against Word of Life. A day later against the Bobcats, the youngster contributed four points in 23 minutes.
 
Berkeley's men's team will return to action this weekend, as the Knights will take another trip, heading to Clinton College for a 7:30pm contest on Saturday, before turning around the following day to take on Johnson & Wales (NC) at 1:00pm.
 
Dixon Blake earned the women's Player of the Week honor thanks to her solid efforts against the Huskies and Bobcats this past Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Against Word of Life, the standout finished with a team-high 13 points while snatching five rebounds and swiping three steals. The next afternoon against Bryant & Stratton-Albany, she led the Knights with a team-high nine points to go along with four rebounds.
 
Berkeley's women's team will return to the court on Thursday evening, as the Knights host the Maccabees of Yeshiva University. The game will take place at the Nat Holman Gymnasium on the campus of the City College of New York. Start-time is scheduled for 7:30pm.
