Women's soccer team drops Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament semifinal round match to Panthers on Saturday afternoon

The No. 4 seeded Berkeley College women's soccer team lost in the semifinal round of the 2016 Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament earlier today, falling to the No. 1 seeded Panthers of the Albany College of Pharmacy by a score of 12-0 in a 70-minute affair at the ACPHS Turf Athletic Field in Albany, NY. With the loss, the Knights dropped to 0-5 on the 2016 campaign, while the Panthers improved their record to 10-3-1 with the victory.

Albany College of Pharmacy will now advance to tomorrow's championship contest, where the Panthers will take on the No. 2 seeded Mighty Oaks of SUNY-ESF at noon.

The Panthers used 10 first-half goals to propel itself to a very convincing victory over the Knights. The scoring was highlighted by Katie Benson and Erin Tersegno, as they scored four and three goals, respectively.

The Panthers dominated the match offensively, holding a 42-0 edge in the shots category. Albany College of Pharmacy also had four corner kick opportunities compared to zero for Berkeley College. Panthers goaltender Sally Slowinski recorded a shutout, and didn't face a shot thanks to a stellar Albany College of Pharmacy defensive effort.

The Knights still have one match remaining in this season, as Berkeley College will travel to Randall's Island to take on Yeshiva University on Wednesday evening, November 2. The contest will be played on field No. 10, and start-time for the match is scheduled for 6:00pm.
