The King's College (NY) spoils women's soccer team's season-opener, as Knights fall to Lions 9-0 at Aviator Field

The Berkeley College women's soccer team dropped its season opener on Wednesday evening, falling to The King's College (NY) in a Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest by a score of 9-0 at Aviator Field in Brooklyn, NY. The Lions improved to 1-2 on the season with the victory (1-1 HVIAC).

The King's College (NY) netted seven goals in the opening half with Rebekah Lambdin (from Jaclynn Kelly at 0:21), Madeline Tyler (from Corinne Boonstra at 2:56), and Stacy Phu (unassisted at 11:27) accounting for the first three tallies. Standout Jaclynn Kelly then scored three consecutive goals to catapult the Lions to a commanding 6-0 edge before Megan LeBlanc capped the first half scoring for The King's College (NY) with a goal at 40:17.

The Lions would add two final goals in the second session – one by Tyler and another by Bailey Kaufman. The contest was called after 74:52. The King's College (NY) out-shot the Knights 34-0 on the evening.

Berkeley College will look to bounce back Monday evening, as the team will take on the College of New Rochelle in another Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest. The game will take place at Aviator Field, and start-time is scheduled for 6:30pm
