
The Berkeley College men's and women's cross country teams continued their 2017 seasons this past Saturday afternoon, as the teams competed in the Bard College Invitational in Annadale-on-Hudson, NY. Neither Knights squad scored as a team, but the student-athletes who competed put forth some hearty efforts.
On the women's side, first-year runner Andrea Gil came in 115th place overall in the 5K event with a time of 26:21. For her performance, Gil earned Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week honors. Finishing behind her for Berkeley College were Melissa Ramirez (128th place overall – 27:42), Jessica Trinidad (151st place overall – 38:08), and Jamaica Austin (152nd place overall – also 38:08).
For the Berkeley College men's squad, Anthony Argueta placed 104th overall in the men's 8K event, crossing the finishing line at 33:55. Albert Jordan was the other male Knight to finish, as he came in 126th overall at a time of 36:27.
The Knights will return to action on Saturday, as the teams will participate in the Mount Saint Mary's (NY) Invitational. The women's race begins at 11:00am, with the men's run following at noon.
