Men's and women's cross country teams put forth strong efforts at Bard Raptors Invitational on Saturday

The Berkeley College men's and women's cross country teams continued their 2018 campaigns on Saturday, competing in the Bard Raptors Invitational. The meets took place on Bard College's campus in Annadale-on-Hudson, NY. In the men's 8K meet, the Knights placed 13th out of 18 competing institutions. On the women's side, Berkeley claimed 13th place out of 14 participating institutions in the 6K race. There were some notable performances for both Knight squads, and both teams continued to improve.

For the Berkeley men, Shi'eym Lennon was the first Knight to cross the tape, as he finished the race in 32:02, good for 50th place overall. Julio (Jay) Sanchez claimed 69th place by completing the course in 33:37. Veteran Albert Jordan claimed 116th place (39:16), and rounding out the scorers for the Knights were Jared Gorgolione (135th place – 45:14) and Stanley Jeanty (140th place – 50:35).

On the women's side, Julissa Osorio led the Knights by finishing in 67th place (30:11). She was followed by Jasmine Boone (101st place – 34:21). Berkeley's third, fourth, and fifth finishers were Melissa Ramirez (107th place – 35:32), Delilah Glasper (119th place – 37:50), and Ashley Kulsea (137th place – 56:13).

The cross country teams will return to action on Sunday, September 30, as the teams will compete in the Mount Saint Mary College Knight Invitational at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome. The women's race will begin at 11:00am, followed by the men's dash at 12:00pm.
