The Berkeley College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the 2018 Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships on Sunday afternoon. The event took place at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome in Milton, NY. Berkeley College's men's squad finished third amongst five scoring teams, while the Knights' female contingent did not score.

On the men's side, it was SUNY-ESF capturing its fourth consecutive league crown, as the Mighty Oaks claimed 14 of the 15 medalist spots and had 18 runners finish in the top 25. Albany College of Pharmacy finished as the runner-up on the day.

For Berkeley College, the Knights' first finisher was Shi'eym Lennon, as he finished 20^thoverall with a time of 36:50. Julio Sanchez was Berkeley's next finisher, as he came in 21^st place overall with a time of 37:06. Rounding out the Knights' representatives were Sean Smith (32nd place – 43:59), Stanley Jeanty (33rd place – 44:49), and Jeremy Jimenez (36^th place – 46:36).

On the women's side, it was SUNY-ESF winning its second consecutive league championship, and third in the last four seasons. The Mighty Oaks had the top eight finishers and thirteen of the 15 receiving medalist honors for a convincing 35-point victory over Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (50 points), who claimed runner-up honors for the second-straight year. 

The Knights' three female representatives were Jasmine Boone, Melissa Ramirez, and Jessica Trinidad. Boone crossed the finish line at 33:29, a time good for 21^st place overall. Ramirez came in 29^th place with a time of 38:13, and Trinidad finalized the race in 38^th place with a time of 48:10.

With both Berkeley College's men's and women's teams boasting many young runners who gained a tremendous amount of experience, the Knights should be better positioned to shoot for conference titles when the 2019 season rolls around in mid-September.
