Berkeley College men's basketball team hits on 69.6 percent of shots in 122-38 victory over King's College at Aviator

The Berkeley College men's basketball team won its third consecutive game, defeating the Lions of King's College by a score of 122-38 Monday evening in a contest played at Aviator in Brooklyn, NY. With the victory, the Knights improved their record to 4-2 on the season, and 1-0 in HVIAC competition. With the loss, King's College dropped to 2-8 on the year, and 0-2 in HVIAC play.

Berkeley College had a historic evening as it pertains to its conversion rate from the floor, as the Knights shot just under 70 percent (55-79, 69.6 percent) while connecting on 11 of their 16 attempts from the charity stripe (68.8 percent). On the flip side, the Knights held the Lions to just 12 baskets for the evening (12-57, 21.1 percent) while forcing 41 King's College turnovers. The Knights led 62-21 at the half, and spent the second half gradually building their advantage and eventually winning the game by 84.

13 different players stepped on the floor for the Knights, and all of them scored at least one basket. Berkeley was led by standout Keenan Langston for the second consecutive contest, as he posted a game-high 21 points while draining nine of his 12 attempts from the field. He also hit on three of his four shots from the line while grabbing five boards, tallying five assists, and contributing two steals. Daquan Seymour netted 18 points to go along with five rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench, and Theo King had one of his best game's as a Knight, scoring 13 points and collecting a pair of assists. Kenton Chan-Man added 13 points while tallying a game-high nine steals. Following the game, Head Coach Chris Christiansen gave his thoughts on the victory.

"It certainly felt good getting that first conference victory under our belts, and it was great to see the guys playing hard and working together," Christiansen said. "We've now won three consecutive games, and we'll enjoy this win tonight, and then we'll begin preparing for Culinary Institute this Saturday. I'm proud of the intensity that my guys displayed this evening."

Despite the loss for the Lions of King's College, Caleb Trouwborst scored a team-high 10 points to go along with two rebounds, and Jeremiah Gill, James Brooks, and Josiah Chapman all contributed six points apiece.

Berkeley College out-rebounded King's by a total of 48-23, while dishing 38 assists to the Lions' eight. The Knights also tuned 41 Lions turnovers into 59 points, and Berkeley College scored a whopping 90 points in the paint compared to just 10 for the Lions.

The Knights will look to win their fourth consecutive game on Saturday afternoon, as Berkeley will host Culinary Institute of America in a contest at the Borough of Manhattan Community College. Start-time for that contest is scheduled for noon.
