The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners for the period of Monday, December 31 through Sunday, January 6, and Berkeley College was represented by senior Ricardo Ayuso, as the standout was tabbed as the Player of the Week.

The senior earned the recognition thanks to his performances in the Knights' two-game trip to Maine. Ayuso led all scorers with 25 points in the Knights' convincing 29-point win over the Moose of the University of Maine at Augusta this past Saturday, connecting on seven three-point baskets in the process. He also snatched five rebounds while recording three assists and a pair of steals. A day later, in a triumph over NHTI, the sharpshooter hit the game-winning three with six seconds remaining on the clock, breaking an 87-all tie with the clutch shot. For the game, he led all scorers with 30 points, while also adding four assists and three rebounds.

Berkeley College will return to action on January 9, as the Knights will host Washington Adventist University. The contest will take place at Pratt Institute, with a start-time of 8:00pm.
