Berkeley College basketball teams dominate Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference awards for the period of 12/16/19-12/22/19

The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners for the period of December 16 through December 22, and the Berkeley College basketball teams were well represented. On the women's side, Amirah Greene was selected the conference's Player of the Week, while Daniella Wood earned the Rookie of the Week distinction. For Berkeley's men's team, Daquan Jackson was tabbed the Player of the Week.

Greene earned the Player of the Week award for her sensational performance in the Knights' 83-21 victory over the Warriors of Vaughn College (12/18). In that contest, the junior forward scored 19 points, snatched nine rebounds, registered seven steals, and compiled six assists.

Daniella Wood was selected the HVIAC Rookie of the Week for the third time this season thanks to her solid effort against Vaughn (12/18), as she netted 10 points while grabbing eight rebounds.

Berkeley's women's team returns to action on January 4. On that day, the Knights will take on the University of Maine-Augusta at 12:00pm (neutral site). The following day, January 5, Berkeley will tussle with NHTI (11:00am).

Daquan Jackson, who was selected Rookie of the Week on two earlier occasions during the season, earned the HVIAC Player of the Week distinction this past week. The standout averaged 22 points (69% FG), 7.5 boards, and 1.5 blocks in two games, including 23 points, nine rebounds, and three swats against USCAA Division I Bryant & Stratton (Albany).

The men's squad will hit the hardwood again on January 4. On that day, the Knights will take on the University of Maine-Augusta at 4:00pm (neutral site). The following day, January 5, Berkeley will tussle with NHTI (3:00pm).
