High-powered Bengals offense too much for New Jersey men's soccer team as Knights fall, 6-1

The Berkeley College (NJ) Men's Soccer team suffered a defeat Saturday afternoon, falling to the University of Maine-Fort Kent by a score of 6-1. With the loss, the Knights dipped to an overall record of 1-5 on the season, while the Bengals stayed unblemished on the 2014 campaign, as they improved to a mark of 5-0.

Kennard Brown and Ben Kluvers were the pace-setters for the University of Maine-Fort Kent, as they both notched two goals apiece on the afternoon. Jamie Reid and Willie Monthe accounted for the other two UMFK tallies, as the offensively-charged Bengals outshot Berkeley College 27-9 for the day in what was a dominating performance.

The Knights' lone goal was contributed by Nuno Santos, with Anthony Feola picked up an assist on the play. Additionally, senior Raymond Scalfani put together a strong game defensively, as she showed terrific tanacity throughout the course of the contest.

The Bengals received four corner kicks on the day to Berkeley College's three, and the Knights committed six fouls compared to five for the University of Maine-Fort Kent. Ahkeim Forbes and Jamie Cleland combined to make five saves for the Bengals, while Jonathan Pena Ortiz made six stops.

Berkeley College will have get right back to action Sunday afternoon, as the Knights battle the University of Maine-Presque Isle. Start-time is scheduled for 2:00pm.
