The Berkeley College New Jersey men's soccer team continued to roll on Sunday afternoon, destroying Vermont Tech by a score of 7-1 in a contest that took place in Randolph Center, Vermont. With the win, Berkeley improved its record to 6-8 on the 2018 campaign, while Vermont Tech slipped to 3-6-1 with the defeat.

Bryan Veslaquez recorded the first goal for Berkeley (at 24:03), receiving a gorgeous lead pass from Carlos Goncalves before burying the ball into the back of the net to give his team a 1-0 edge. Igancio Sanin increased Berkeley's lead to a pair of goals, scoring just before the half (at 44:45) off a pass from Kevin Soares. At the conclusion of the opening session, Berkeley held a 2-0 lead.

Vermont Tech got back in the game at 58:54 when Dave Mattern notched a goal (from Phil Hepburn) to pull his team to within 2-1.

After Vermont Tech scored its only goal of the game, Berkeley would score the final five goals of the afternoon, courtesy of Wender Lima (from Alejandro Thomas at 62:53), Marcos Hidalgo (67:38, from Lima), back-to-back goals from Sanin (from Velasquez at 71:20, and from Arturo Layza at 74:12), and a penalty kick goal from Kyle Santos at 86:52.

Robert Parker allowed one goal and made four saves in a complete match effort.

Berkeley College out-shot Vermont Tech 32-7 on the afternoon.

The Knights will return to action on Tuesday afternoon, as Berkeley will take to the road to play Camden County College. Start-time is scheduled for 3:00pm.
