Jean-Gardy Derineau selected as HVIAC Player of the Week following incredible effort against Penn State Brandywine last week

The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its weekly awards for the period of August 26 through September 1, and the Berkeley College New York men's soccer team was represented by Jean-Gardy Derineau, as he was named the conference's Player of the Week

The aforementioned Derineau earned the conference's top billing thanks to his tremendous performance in the Knights' season-opening victory defending USCAA Division II National champion Penn State Brandywine back on August 30. The standout junior midfielder from Valley Stream, NY scored all three of Berkeley's goals in that win, serving as an offensive force in rallying his team from a 2-0 halftime deficit. The Knights won the game 3-2.

The Knights resume their 2019 season this weekend, as Berkeley will travel to La Plume, PA to take on the Giants of Keystone College. Start-time is scheduled for 2:00pm.
