Dario Cruz Sepulveda tabbed as USCAA Division II Goalie of the Week, HVIAC Player of the Week

The United States Collegiate Athletic Assocation and the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced their weekly award recipients for the period of September 9 through September 16, and the Berkeley College New York men's soccer team was represented by Dario Cruz-Sepulveda, as the sophomore netminder was selected as the USCAA Division II Goalie of the Week, and the HVIAC Player of the Week.

Cruz-Sepulveda turned in an impressive three-game run, first saving eight shots in a 2-1 defeat to Centenary back on September 9, followed by three saves and just one goal allowed in the Knights' 2-1 triumph over SUNY Maritime two days later. He capped off the week by shutting out HVIAC opponent Albany Pharmacy with nine saves in a 2-0 win in both squads' conference opener this past Sunday.

In seven games thus far this season, the veteran has posted a G.A.A. of 1.00, recording two shutouts in the process, making stops on three penalty kicks, and stopping just over 83 percent of the shots directed towards net.

The Knights resume their 2019 season later today at 3:00pm, as Berkeley will travel to South Abington Township, PA to take on Summit University. The game will serve as a rematch of the classic match the two teams played during last season, battling to a 1-1 tie back on October 5, 2018.
