Offensive powerhouse Amadou Sy earns USCAA Division II and HVIAC Player of the Week honors

The United States Collegiate Athletic Association and Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced their weekly award winners for the period of Monday, September 23, through Sunday, September 29 on Monday evening. Knights standout Amadou Sy was selected as the USCAA Division II Men's Soccer Player of the Week, as well as the HVIAC Player of the Week.

The sophomore dominated last week in a pair of matches for the Knights. In Berkeley's 3-2 victory over NCAA Division III institution Vassar College, the forward registered two goals. Three days later in a 4-0 victory over HVIAC foe SUNY-ESF, Sy was at it again, recording two goals and two assists.

After leading the Knights with 10 goals in 19 matches last season, the standout has taken the USCAA and the HVIAC by storm this season. With 11 goals in 11 games during the 2019 campaign thus far, he currently places fourth overall in goals scored in the USCAA, and second in the HVIAC.

Berkeley College has won five of its previous seven matches, and will look to continue its play today, as the Knights will travel to the No. 85 field at Randall's Island to take on HVIAC foe Vaughn College. Berkeley currently owns an eight match winning streak in HVIAC regular season contests, and the Knights will look to extend that this afternoon. Match-time is scheduled for 4:30pm.
