Men's and women's cross country teams showcase talents at Highlander Cross Country Challenge at Branch Brook Park

Results

The Berkeley College men's and women's cross country teams continued their 2018 seasons on Saturday morning, competing in the Highlander Cross Country Challenge at Branch Brook Park. On the men's side, the Knights finished in 13th place out of 31 competing NCAA Division II and III institutions in the 8K run. Berkeley's women did not score as a team, but the competitors put forth some hearty efforts in the women's 6K event.

On the men's side for the Knights, Berkeley College was led by Jeremy Jimenez, as he crossed the finished line at 27:12, a time good for 17th place overall. The next Knight to finish was Jared Gorgolione, as he completed the 8K event in 28:28, a time that placed him 41st overall. Shi'eym Lennon took 73rd place by finishing the course in 30:39, and rounding out the Berkeley male finishers were Julio Sanchez (31:28, 91st place), and Albert Jordan (37:35, 154th place).

For Berkeley College's women's team in the 6K event, Delilah Glasper was the first runner to cross the tape, as she finished the course in 26:25 (171st amongst all runners). Melissa Ramirez came in 187th place amongst all competitors when she dashed across the finish line at 28:42, and Jessica Trinidad was 210th overall at a time of 32:09. Rounding out the female runners for Berkeley was Ashley Kulsea, as she finished the race 224th overall (37:48).

The Berkeley College men's and women's cross country teams will return to action on Sunday, October 14, as the teams will participate in the Caldwell Cougar Chase. The men's race begins at 11:00am, followed by the women's meet at 12:00pm.
