Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference cross country All-Conference teams announced; Five Berkeley College runners earn recognition

The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its men's and women's cross country All-Conference teams on Saturday afternoon, and Berkeley College's runners were well represented. On the male side, three Knights were selected, including Julio Sanchez, Carlos Lopez, and Jeremy Jimenez, and for Berkeley's female competitors, Marcella Valencia and Andrea Gil were tabbed as All-Conference student-athletes.

Julio Sanchez competed in three out of the four meets that Berkeley competed in during the 2019 campaign, and he was the first to score on his team every time, including at the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship meet. Lopez also participated in three meets, and he was the Knights second finisher in the team's season opener at the Fred Pavlich Inviational. Jimenez competed in all four of the meets Berkeley ran in this year and was strong down the stretch, as he was the first Knight to cross the tape at the Desales University Invitational, and the second Berkeley runner to finish at the conference championship race.

For Berkeley's women's squad, Valencia showed consistency by competing in all four meets the Knights ran in this season. She was the first Knight to cross the finish line at both the Desales University Invitational, and the second Berkeley runner to cross the tape at Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship meet. Andrea Gil was Berkeley's top finisher at the conference championship meet, and was the second Knight to finish at both the Fred Pavlich Invitational, and the Desales University Invitational.
