Former Berkeley College All-American Deylon Bovell has served on Berkeley’s staff since September 2020 as an assistant coach. He was promoted to Associate Head Coach in March 2024.
A first-team All-HVIAC pick and second-team All-American from 2019-2021, Bovell led the Knights to back-to-back Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) championships and two consecutive United States Collegiate Athletic Association Division II National Tournament (USCAA) appearances. During the 2018-2019 campaign, he paced Berkeley to a record of 21-6, HVIAC regular season and postseason tournament crowns, and an appearance in the USCAA Division II men's basketball tournament.
During his two-year tenure playing at Berkeley College playing under head coach Jonathan Pena, Bovell competed in 33 games, starting 28 of them, averaging 13.4 points and 2.1 assists while shooting 45.4 percent from the field.
Before transitioning into coaching, Bovell enjoyed a successful professional basketball career, playing for Guyana National team where he averaged 10 points, four rebounds, and two assists per contest. His time playing professionally sharpened his skills, improving his discipline and providing him a thorough understanding of the game at the highest level.
